The History of MEPO : Health, Education and Peace from 2002 to 2012

Medical, Educational and Peace Organization is a charity organization with a mission of peace, founded to serve the needy through medical and educational aid.

From its founding in 1999 until 2002, MEPO doctors and volunteers served in Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. MEPO and its volunteers conducted free health camps, established and supported schools and clinics in refugee camps and poor rural villages, and provided assistance to poverty-stricken families. 

 

 The House of Flowers Orphanage

In the fall of 2002,  MEPO began focusing its energy on one primary project: establishing and running the House of Flowers orphanage in Afghanistan.

For nearly 10 years, the House of Flowers has been an oasis of peace, providing a caring home and enriching Montessori-inspired school for some of Afghanistan’s poorest children. There are always between 25 and 30 children living and learning at the House of Flowers, as some children come and go.

As of May 2012 there are 27 children at the House, ages 3 to 18.
