April 2010 UPDATE and Thanks:

In December of 2009, we appealed to MEPO friends to help us meet our financial needs, since we were facing a severe deficit. We would like to deeply thank those who answered the call and helped us regain stability.

This allowed the staff to pay the next year's rent and begin some needed house repairs. This work is never done, and just like any family the expenses never cease, but thanks to all of you, The House of Flowers lives on. Thank you for being there...

How To Donate

MEPO is a very efficient and lean volunteer organization, thus there are no overhead costs. Fully 100% of every donation goes to the children of the House of Flowers.

We Are Grateful...

Over the past seven years, hundreds of individuals and groups have been involved in supporting MEPO. We would like to thank our friends and donors who have been consistently helping the children of the House of Flowers with cash, Montessori materials, furniture, clothes, and with logistics. Every year we improvise our budget for the House due to the unpredictable amount of donations coming in, and inconsistent inflation and the rising cost of living in Kabul. But despite all uncertainties, the House of Flowers continues to enjoy success and growth on many levels, and we have treasured being connected together in different humane ways.
