Financial
Donations
It is only through the accumulated generosity of others
that we have been able to maintain this home for the
children. The House of Flowers Orphanage survives solely
on private donations from generous people around the
world.
As living costs have tripled in Kabul over the last four
years, the House expenses have increased to the point
that we have had to withdraw our support for the clinics
that MEPO originally founded in Afghanistan, and focus our
resources on the House of Flowers.
Times remain tight and we are constantly working
on reducing costs. In April 2006, the House of Flowers
moved to a less expensive house and reluctantly cut our
staff from 11 people to 8 in an effort to bring the budget under
control. But still we have expenses of over $40,000 a year
just for the orphanage. Any funds we receive beyond that amount are
either rolled over for the next year at the House of
Flowers, or used for other small projects such as helping
destitute families.
By continuing to pool our resources and concentrate our
energy, we can maintain this world-enriching endeavor.
Every donation helps keep the
House of Flowers a thriving, growing oasis for children.
