In the winter of 2007-8,  Dr. Inayat-ullah, staff member of the HoF, wrote the following email after the staff and children had distributed aid to families ...

Dear Dr. Vaziri,

According to your questions, I want to say that as you have been informed about the weather condition of the Kabul, which is so terrible in these days.

On the distribution day, a very cold wind was flowing and the area where we distributing was full of snow, so we justified that the climate was so bad for the children to go outside, therefore no one of the children were carried.

According to your second question with full of sorry I want to say that we had seen unforgettable living condition of those people. 60% children did not have shoes in that snow. They were living in the ruins of governmental buildings of Darulaman. There were no windows nor doors in the rooms of those ruins. The rooms were so cold that we could not tolerate even five minutes over there.

Also there were a few children who were weeping, we asked from their mother about the father of the children. The mother of the children told us that her husband a day ago went for to earn some thing, on the way he was crushed by a vehicle and now he is in the hospital, and now there is nobody to bring some things for these children. All of those families had such as full of sorry stories.

With Warm Regards,

Dr.Inayat
