The House of Flowers Orphanage always needs supplies for the children such as medicines, toys, school supplies, clothing, etc. Unfortunately, regular shipping to Afghanistan is rarely a viable option: customs clearance is difficult and costly, and shipping costs are very expensive.

Alternate Shipping Options

If you do wish to send a donation of materials to the House of Flowers, please contact us directly so that we may be able to give you feedback. Sometimes there are shipping options that are worthwhile for hard-to-obtain materials.

Also, if you know of someone traveling to Afghanistan or Iran who can handcarry your donation, we can arrange to meet that person to receive your donation. Please contact us for more information about this.

Supplies Needed

In Kabul we can easily find basic school supplies such as pencils, paper, rulers, etc. However, we do have need for things that are not readily available such as:

School supplies: Montessori educational materials, picture books, coloring books, educational DVD’s, world maps, magnifying glasses, magnets, and other science equipment, etc. (for ages 6 to 13)  

Toys: Legos, Tinkertoys, cars, trucks, stuffed animals, puzzles, educational games, etc (for boys and girls ages 6 to 13)

Medical supplies: antibiotics, vitamins, lotion, antiseptics, etc.

Upon receiving your donation we will send you pictures of the materials being received or used by the children at the House of Flowers.
